For the ultimate in weight savings and race performance, American Classic now offers superlight aluminum cassettes for Shimano 9 speed and Campagnolo 10 speed. American Classic aluminum cogs are made from 7075-T6 alloy. Cogs are individual and bolted together with steel pins. They can be unbolted to replace individual cogs. The cogs are anodized for surface hardness. The smaller cogs (13 tooth and lower) are steel for durability. Aluminum cogs start at the 14 tooth cog. Cogsets feature deep, crisp shift ramps. Lock ring is aluminum for both Shimano and Campagnolo. These cogs are intended for race or event use, not everyday riding! Cogsets will last approximately 1000 miles. Longevity is increased by riding in the large chainring. As with any new cassette, a new chain is recommended. 109 to 161 grams.
