New for 2006, the 303 clincher has been redesigned to take advantage of Zipp's patented dimpling technology.
Using M2CM technology, a hand-crafted Carbon rim is wed to a totally new alloy extrusion resulting in an aerodynamically superior 40mm deep clincher rim that's over 100 grams lighter than the average 30mm deep conventional alloy rim. :
For the first time on a structural carbon fiber rim, custom post machining finishes each rim to ensure a perfectly parallel, machined aluminum braking surface to provide sure and dependable braking.
Lateral stiffness is more than double that of traditional rims while the vertically compliant carbon element ensures a comfortable riding experience over all too common rough roads.

Clincher tires exhibit different aerodynamic properties than tubular tires, so we subtly alter the shape of the clincher profile to maximize the aerodynamic characteristics of clincher tires. The clincher rim is completely new with further enhanced aerodynamics, resulting from careful shaping of the rim profile to match popular tire brands and widths. As a side bonus, the new rim shape is over 15% stiffer without any weight penalty.
